Tea for Two

Remember those days when you just used to turn up at peoples houses, unannounced with no reason to actually be there? It could be a neighbour, friend, family member and you'd just knock on the door or walk in depending who it was and they'd pop the kettle on while saying ignore the mess or sorry I'm in my dressing gown but they weren't actually fussed about that because its only you and you don't mind.

I miss those days! It feels now like you need an invite, then a set plan and some sort of reason or activity and it always has to cost money or involve others. The person hosting then has to stress about getting the house right and you both have to look presentable. For why?

Can't we just show up in our pj's to somebodies home that loves us like we love them and have a cuppa together? When was the last time you just did that?

Because for our mental health and wellbeing a chat with a brew can do us the world of good or just distract us. If the person knows you well enough they might throw in a sandwich, give you some advice or alert others that can support you. And we can do the same. You might put your cup back in the kitchen and quickly wash up the pots or take the bin out for them as you leave. Small gestures  time together and connection. Its vital.

Much love,

Becky xx
